SSLSD has introduced some major changes to its curriculum by updating student resources from the new academic year. From September, textbooks for the three main subjects: English, Mathematics and Science in classes from year 1 to 9 will be available as paper copies as well as digital interactive copies. Students will also have access to Activelearn online resource website which consists of interactive exercises, assessments, games and many other exciting features. Each student will have an account in this site and their progress records will be automatically updated.
New text books will be available at school book store from 27th August and parents are kindly requested to purchase these new books from school since books have already been ordered for all students. However, other books on the list remain unchanged and parents may purchase them from Sri Lanka if they have not ordered from school. French texts will be used for after school lessons and those who wish to learn French after school may buy them.
Moreover tablet PCs will be introduced initially to year 7 from next year in order to further enhance students’ performance under these new changes. Gradually these changes will be introduced to other classes as well.
School expects these changes to bring about a massive improvement in students’ achievement levels as well as motivational levels.
